Maire de 1995 \u00e0 2014, d\u00e9put\u00e9 de l\u2019Is\u00e8re pendant pr\u00e8s de trente ans, il a profond\u00e9ment marqu\u00e9 le paysage urbain, politique et institutionnel de la capitale des Alpes. Ing\u00e9nieur de formation (Arts et M\u00e9tiers, Sciences Po Grenoble), il incarne cette tradition grenobloise o\u00f9 se croisent <strong>industrie, recherche et engagement public<\/strong>. Avant la politique, il est entrepreneur et fonde la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Corys, sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les syst\u00e8mes de simulation industrielle.<br>Son engagement politique d\u00e9bute d\u00e8s 1977 comme conseiller municipal, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019<strong>Hubert Dubedout<\/strong>, figure embl\u00e9matique du Grenoble progressiste. Il devient ensuite conseiller g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019Is\u00e8re en 1985, puis d\u00e9put\u00e9 en 1988. Dans un contexte de chute nationale et locale de la droite, Michel Destot remporte la mairie de Grenoble et met fin \u00e0 douze ann\u00e9es de mandat carignoniste. La t\u00e2che est lourde : <strong>dette \u00e9lev\u00e9e, administration fragilis\u00e9e, d\u00e9fiance citoyenne<\/strong>. Sous les mandats de Michel Destot :<br>&#8211; la <strong>ligne C<\/strong> est construite en 2006<br>&#8211; un <strong>p\u00f4le central de gestion des d\u00e9placements<\/strong> est mis en place<br>&#8211; le <strong>pont de Chartreuse<\/strong> est inaugur\u00e9 en 2011<br>&#8211; la <strong>ligne E<\/strong> est lanc\u00e9e<br>Ces choix renforcent l\u2019image d\u2019une ville pionni\u00e8re en mati\u00e8re de <strong>mobilit\u00e9s urbaines<\/strong> et de transports publics.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d, .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d[data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d\"]{font-style:normal;}.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d mark.kt-highlight, .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d[data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d\"] mark.kt-highlight{font-style:normal;color:#f76a0c;-webkit-box-decoration-break:clone;box-decoration-break:clone;padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;}<\/style>\n<h3 class=\"kt-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d wp-block-kadence-advancedheading has-theme-palette-13-color has-text-color\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading240_5bafae-8d\"><strong>Un maire grenoblois au poids national<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de Grenoble, Michel Destot joue un r\u00f4le important sur la sc\u00e8ne nationale. D\u00e9put\u00e9 de l\u2019Is\u00e8re jusqu\u2019en 2017, il pr\u00e9side de <strong>2007 \u00e0 2014 l\u2019Association des maires de grandes villes de France (AMGVF)<\/strong>. Les tensions avec les \u00e9cologistes locaux, notamment l\u2019<strong>ADES<\/strong>, sont r\u00e9currentes. Le <strong>Stade des Alpes<\/strong>, l\u2019inauguration de <strong>Minatec en 2006<\/strong> ou encore le projet controvers\u00e9 de <strong>Rocade Nord<\/strong> cristallisent les oppositions.<br>Sur le plan \u00e9lectoral, malgr\u00e9 des alliances larges allant du PCF au Modem, la pouss\u00e9e \u00e9cologiste est visible : en 2008, <strong>Maryvonne Boileau atteint 22 %<\/strong>. En 2014, Michel Destot choisit de ne pas se repr\u00e9senter, laissant la place \u00e0 J\u00e9r\u00f4me Safar. En 2022, il participe encore \u00e0 un s\u00e9minaire social-d\u00e9mocrate avec d\u2019autres figures historiques du PS, tentant de peser face \u00e0 la
